Why Practice Matters Just as Much If not More Than Performance

Everybody wants to become a master, but few want to endure the pain, the work, and the process that is required for such an outcome. But it’s in the process where almost all the work actually happens. It’s where the majority of your time will be spent if you intend to master anything.

Moments in the spotlight, accolades, and fame are fleeting. You might be big news for week or month, and then everybody will be back to their lives. Public attention and admiration are a fickle currency, and to depend on them for our well being and happiness, as Ryan Holiday once said to me is “a recipe for profound disappointment.”

If your goal is mastery, whether you’re an author, musician, athlete, or speaker, you will practice far more than you perform.

The idea that practice matters so much was instilled into me at a very young age by my band director. There were 2 auditions for the Texas All-State Band

All region
All area

To prepare for those auditions, you had to put in 100’s of hours of practice. You practiced far more than you performed. The auditions, the concerts, and moments on stage were small fractions of a much larger process
.
The only way you could succeed at this was to fall in love with the process, to practice every day.

A band might play 50 shows as part of a tour. But they might rehearse more than 500 times to prepare for those 50 shows. Their practice fuels their performance.

Athletes practice far more than they perform.

Olympians practice for something that occurs once every 4 years. And in some cases, the performance doesn’t last more than a few minutes.

In the NBA, NFL or any major league sport, the time spent on practice far exceeds the amount of time spent playing the actual game.

To prepare for writing 1 traditionally published book, it took a consistent practice of 1000 words a day and more than a million words over the course of 5 years. I’ve practiced much more than I’ve performed. As I’ve said before prolific writing is a practice. Like an athlete who trains to stay in shape for playing his sport, a writing practice allows me to stay in shape for writing books.

One of my friends asked me what I was planning to do the morning of my book launch. I said “I’m going to do what I do every day. I’m going to wake up and write 1000 words. It’s business as usual.”

Practice, the decision to focus on the process instead of the prize is one of our greatest competitive advantages.
We control the time, effort, and energy we will dedicate to our practice.

We control whether we outwork the people around us.
You will practice far more than you perform. Therefore you should take your practice just as seriously as you take your performance.

9ja Machos and Rules

The country is one with so many scenarios to behold. The rate of drama kings and queens in the country is entertainingly appalling. There is an urgent need around the world for we all to return to our senses and reverence God. People tend to give out different kind of reason to support their doings and if enough emotion is attached to it, it tends to communicate truth to the spectators. The world economy may come back alive but can our lives do the same? There are so many Egungun who has to be very careful because of the express ahead of them. Presently, one express the world is facing is the spread of the novel Covid-19 which seems to be a means of keeping people clean and making sure people follow rules. The human is very hard to deal with, with all of their hard-headed behavior and heartless thinking maybe one of the reason why God once again decide to revisit the earth. Nigerians have always had it hard with rules. Traffic rules, queue rules, legal rules, biblical rules and s

Little Machos on the Wild *School Gist

The matters of the heart couldn't be compared to the matters of the brain.  A young vibrant 9ja youth was asked to come and enjoy himself in the stead of her boyfriend by same girl on Valentine day. They're (400lv) student of the federal University of Technology Akure, on getting there he met his friend who was very close to him all through their stay in school waiting for his friend girl to get ready and get her laid as usual. But because the guy isn't loaded enough the lady had to take the side of the other friends of his, which make them to fist cat and dog at each other. According to The lady so called "original boyfriend" she have had it with the guy holding the cameras and almost every other guys around and in other to cover up the whole story, she said that she never knew the guy was around and that she just stepped inside only for her to not believe her eyes. She said that if not for the other guy her boyfriend's friend would have rapped her. The S

Matters for Mathais

There are needs that needs to be met in a society and one of the major needs isn't the sexual need among the machos As of 2017-2019 the major search from Nigeria proxies shows that majority of what Nigerians search out are mostly livescore and bet9ja. If a nation as big as Nigeria is subjected to the Mastermind of the sport world, and the dainty tricks of the bookmakers, what hope have we in the country. Musicians also participate in sports bet with a huge amount of money. Kcee the "kukere master" himself staked a Million buck on the possibility that he saw in the soccer match between Barcelona vs Liverpool in the champions league, which he lost and a million buck was won by the betting company. This is disheartening that a country with talented individuals venture into all sort of mental-tasking, physically-demanding activities to make ends meet. The country itself has become a Ponzi scheme due to all the fraudulent practises found in it daily. Hardly can you wake up
